For nearly three weeks after Quinn Witherspoon’s death, his wife maintained she accidentally shot him after slipping on a child’s book called “A Story, A Story.”

That was the testimony of Detective Todd Marcum of the Mooresville Police Department in Iredell County Superior Court on Monday.

Stole from a church, stole from her sister, lied about what happened. She loves to shop, spend money she does not have. She has no conscience. She killed him on purpose and is a sociopath.

Quinn Witherspoon was not only a son to his mother and father. He was also the son of an entire community. He was a son and a valiant peacekeeper in that community. Although his mother and father and indeed his entire family certaily have the "right" to unabashedly defend his killer, they do not have the final say. That is not how our society operates; otherwise, it would be a short leap to living in a society where a family unit can decide the life or death of anyone within its family structure - such as is the case in some of the countries we have labeled as barbaric. Sadly, Quinn Witherspoon's family has attempted through past letters to the editor to bully all of us into silence, and silence they have received. However, there are many way to "speak". May they one day learn that there are many in this community who have called upon a legion of angels in the form of the judicial system to "speak" for Quinn Witherspoon and speak for the rest of us who have been silenced, but who saw him as our son and our valiant peacekeeper...

The community lost a GREAT person. Misty deserves to pay for what she has done. All the different stories she is given should be enough to find her guilty. Quinn was a wonderful friend, father and never met a stranger. He deserves justice in this case.
