This letter is in response to Mr. Nesbit's letter in the Jan. 9 R&L.
A mistake by the Tribune on Jan. 9 and then forwarded to the R&L Jan. 8 led Mr. Nesbit and others to believe that we (Mom, Dad and me) laid a deal on the district attorney's table. I want to make it perfectly clear that we (me, Mom and Dad) did not lay a deal of seven years on the DA's table; we simply asked for a deal that Misty could and would take. The DA offered the seven-year deal. If I had asked for a time, it would have been no time, but let me ask you, the fact that the DA laid a seven-year deal on the table for Misty, what does that say?
Why would the DA's office offer Misty a seven-year deal if they believed Misty was guilty of first-degree murder and had an open-and-shut case? Yes, Mr. Nesbit, I do have the right to my opinion and my freedom of speech, but if my letters tire you, you have the right and the freedom not to read them.
How about all the cases you read in which someone was convicted by a jury only later to be found innocent? When I say "innocent," referring to Misty, I mean innocent of hte charged she was convicted of. A jury is not always informed of all the truth and facts; some had already found Misty guilty before her trial. Yes, a jury did convict Misty, but through deceit and manipulation. I was there every single minute of every single day for three weeks and a day. Were you? I've lived this nightmare.
I have focused on the children each day for the past 28 months and will continue to for the rest of my life, but I want them to believe there is true justice, as their daddy did. I'll say it again: All I want is a fair trial for Misty. Everyone is entitled to that.
I wish I had no reason to be angry. I wish I'd wake up from this hellish nightmare and be able to hug my brother and tell him that I love him and miss him every waking moment. I wish I did not have to hear the unanswered cries of those babies for their momma and daddy. I wish Mom and Dad could once again hold their baby boy and Drey would have his little brother and best friend back. I wish we didn't haev to go to Glenwood Cemetery to talk or feel close to Quinn. I wish I could make everything all right, but I can't.
Yes, this is how I deal with things, because screaming for justice is all I can do. So when Misty gets a fair trial, then I will hush, and Quinn can finally be at peace. Quinn's memory will live as long as my heart continues to beat. When I look into the precious faces of his children, I see him.
When you start living my life, then you can tell me how to feel.

Mr. Nesbit may have not heard every word of the trial but I did Sabrina and how you can possibly believe Misty's story amazes me. Talk about having your head in the sand. The district attorney didn't charge her with murder one, the grand jury did. They saw enough evidence even before the trial to know she should be tried as the murderer she is. I think the district attorney didn't have enough faith to think that he could get the jury past the fact that Quinn's own family didn't want justice for his murder. Instead of being on the side for the truth and justice, you people where on the side of the very person who took your brothers life. It's not the district attorney that makes the children cry for their parents, it's their mother who did that. She shot their father while he was sleeping, leaving the twins, asleep in the bedroom, without a dad and leaving Katherine waiting at school for a father that would never come for her. All because she couldn't control her shopping. Talk about priorities. Mothers are suppose to save their children and make their lives better, not destroy them. But that's what Misty did and that's what you're doing. You need to concentrate on the kids now and not Misty. It would have been so much better for the kids if she had never been out on bail.
Have you really thought about a new trial Sabrina? What if the state seeks the death penalty next time? What if they bring charges to other members of the family for destroying evidence? Or delve into those missing church funds deeper than before? You ready for that?
I don't have to live your life, Sabrina, but you MAKE US live it each time you open your mouth. Misty GOT a fair trial, you just can't see it for the blinders you wear. You make it all about Misty, it should be about those children she left orphans. Don't tell me they aren't orphans, they are. She's in prison and their father is gone. That makes them orphans. They have no parents to help them grow, they unfortunately have you. You make them relive that horrible day, don't you? As long as you live you will make them relive it. I feel so sorry for those children that they have to grow up with YOU as a role model. Let it go and help those children grow up happy. They will never be happy until you move on.
Is there nothing that can be done to get the children away from these people? They don't have a chance where they are. Look into it friends of Quinn. See what can be done before they ruin the kids that he loved so much.
i love you sabrina, i believe quinn is not resting yet, justice has not been served.she had no chance.with so many uniformed concord officers.well that says it all , i don't care what others opinions are!!!!they can't even say there name, but i bet they claim to be christian. I love your family and in christ they are mine. you have loved me unconditionally, and forever i am grateful.
love you,
Terri Thomas
did the jury??????why did they offer her 7 years, sounds like your head is in the sand.go back to your dull life.
again, my name is Terri Thomas, Misty witherspoons friend...so shut up, unless you have walked in her shoes...thank you
for the one commenting on" open your mouth"!!!!get a life.you have nothing else to do.so you make remarks about sabrina, you have no idea.come on you all comment back.do you know there is no sin greater then the other .if you are christian then comment, if your confused, then shut up....
why are you all afraid to say your name????hmmm let me guess!!!-hypocrytes...oh yeah that's what your called.you must live in a small town, we in hollywood-dare to be differant-.....
Well, MS Thomas,
I'm the "open your mouth" commentator. So.....what makes YOU a better Christian than I?? The fact that you gave your name?? You are no better than I am, or anyone else that comments anonymously, for that matter. Misty was convicted by a jury of her peers and rightfully so. She did the deed, the punishment fits the crime, end of story. YOU are Misty's friend, that makes you biased. As long as all of you continue to bring up how wronged Misty was, neither Quinn nor his children will have peace. If YOU believe Misty's story, you have your head in the sand as much as Sabrina does.
Kudos to Anonymous for giving Terri Thomas a reality check!!
You call others hypocrytes? Who do you think you are? Your no different than the others posting their comments. Only difference is your defensive like your trying to prove to yourself about Mistys guilt!!
SABRINA,
I COMMEND YOU ON STANDING BEHIND MISTY AND WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN. ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY BELIEVE MISTY IS WHERE SHE SHOULD BE SHOULD HAVE TO LISTEN TO THOSE BABIES CRY FOR THEIR MOMMY AND DADDY. NO QUINN CAN NEVER BE WITH THEM AGAIN IN BODY BUT I KNOW HE IS IN SPIRIT. I'VE TALKED TO YOU MANY TIMES ABOUT THIS WHOLE ISSUE AND I ADMIRE YOU FOR STICKING TO YOUR BELIEFS AND NOT SWAYING WITH THE REST OF THE COMMUNITY. ONLY 3 PEOPLE KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THAT DAY, QUINN, MISTY AND GOD. ALL THESE CRITICS NEED TO SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO ALL OF THE FACTS BEFORE THEY PASS JUDGEMENT ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. IF QUINN WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A POLICE OFFICER THE TRIAL WOULD HAVE PROBABLY NEVER HAPPENED. THEY USED MISTY AS AN EXAMPLE. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE WHERE THOSE CHILDREN GROW UP EXCEPT THEIR FAMILY. YOUR PARENTS ARE FINE PEOPLE AND THEY RAISED FINE CHILDREN. I HAVE ALL THE FAITH IN THE WORLD THAT THEY WILL RAISE FINE GRANDCHILDREN TOO.
YOUR FRIEND,
KIM WILLIAMS
