Mooresville has attained varying degrees of notoriety for a number of things.
It is the headquarters of Lowe’s Home Improvement, the home base of NASCAR legends, favorites and up-and-comers and a destination because of its proximity to Lake Norman.
But national TV audiences will soon get to know Race City USA as the place where one its residents snapped.
A television crew has been in Iredell County for the past week examining the murder of former Concord police officer Quinn Witherspoon, who was killed while taking an afternoon nap in his Mooresville home two years ago.

I was wondering how long this was going to take. I am sure the family will figure out some way to make a dollar off of it. They probably called them to do the story.

From what I understand, the family was one of the last contacted on the list of interveiws and they aren't making any money. I don't agree with them on the Misty deal but shut up and leave them alone and go back to what perfect life you live.

Does it make a difference whether they make money off of it or not? No. What does make a difference is that once again, instead of letting things die down and getting the children back to some resemblance of normal life, they're right back in the spotlight. Misty was guilty, she's in prison, ok. Big deal. Time to move on people. And to the person that said stay out of it and mind your own business, well....it's a little hard to do that when it's continually THRUST in your face, don't you think?
If the FAMILY and THEIR suppoters don't want the backlash from the public, then THEY need to STOP putting it out in the public! THEY put themselves out there to be the target of public ridicule. Stay out of the media and the newspapers and allow those children to try and live a somewhat normal life that is allowable to them considering the history and baggage that has been bestowed on them from their mother and the Witherspoon family.
Well, i like watching all of the crime t.v shows such as "Snapped", Cold Case Files, Investigative Reports and such...but, honestly...this kind of thing goes on all the time all over the world. It just so happens there's a story here in our town and that's what gets everybody in a fuss. There's story after story about murderers all the time! What's the big deal with this particular one? Just because it's here in Mooresville, and everyone knows the family? Who cares...I knew this story would hit the national t.v attention some time or another....it's no different than any other one. It's all a cold-blooded murder case! Sure, there are children involved, but does that really seem to stop the media? We all know it's not going to stop the family from speaking out...so, the best thing we can do is just hope for the best for the kids! Trust "me" when i say...48 Hours, 20/20 and Inside Edition has been following this case even before it went to trial. Like i said...it's no different than any other story! She killed him and she was guilty and she's in prison just like everyone else is that murders! I agree and dont like the fact that the kids lives may never be normal because of all of this...im just making the point that stories like Misty Witherspoon's are all over the national t.v. shows! Remember the man in South Charlotte that stabbed his two girls, Mary Winkler (who by the way didn't get served the way she should've) and even Jon Benet Ramsey.....dont tell me nobody around here wasnt all up in those crime stories...I was...and that's why the media has found the Witherspoon Case...if the family is saying and doing like they always have, what makes you think they're going to stop now??? I dont know why they like to be on t.v, maybe it's to get attention..who knows, but im not surprised at all that this is going on a national t.v. show like "Snapped"! And by the way...the show basically is going to show what a monster Misty was that day, just like all the other women on there..so what's wrong with that?? And, it will show that she didn't just "snap" she pre-meditated the whole thing!
I would like to address you people that seem to always know exactly what the family does and don't do. Does it make you feel important to pretend to know this and to tell others to shut up when they have just as much right to talk as you? I think everyone on this blog has the right to say exactly what they want too. It's actually us who paid for Misty's trial and her appeal. It's us that are playing the social security for her children. It's us who pay for the food she eats in prison. It's us that subscribe to the paper and pay our cable bills so who are you to tell anyone what to do. The things we didn't do was to help Misty steal money from the church, nor did we help her hold the gun that took the life of her husband. We didn't go out shopping with church money. We didn't lie to her hard working husband and pretend the bills were getting paid. So just who are you to tell anyone any thing? Let me tell you what I think....I think that everytime this awful story is brought up that it kills the soul of these small children...until eventually they won't have any left. I can only imagine how poor Katherine is dealing with the other kids in school. We all know how hurtful children can be to someone who is slightly different and bless their hearts, these children are very different now. They weren't before. Before they had a normal life and a father who loved them more than life it's self. But that stability in their lives is gone and will never be there again for them. It just breaks my heart to think of the pain they face every day and will continue to face the rest of their lives. Misty took that life away from them when she decided Quinn was worth more dead than alive. I just think if these kids are to have any kind of life that all this crazy stuff needs to stop. Witherspoons, I truly hope you aren't profiting on Quinn's death. You've made your point about supporting Misty. Everyone know how you feel so it's time to start worrying about the children and nothing else. Sabrina this especially goes for you. Quinn wouldn't want you doing the things you're doing. He would want you to be a loving aunt to his children and not keep stiring up trouble in their lives. It's time to cut your losses with Misty and start thinking about the children. They are the future for your family and they are the only remaining link to Quinn. Please let people remember Quinn for the kind and gentle man and father that he was. If you don't, you're doing injustice to a father, son, and a brother that deserved so much more from you. I will never understand your reason for supporting Misty but that is your right. But is it the right think for the children? I really think life would be easier for them if you just don't be so vocal about your support of her. There was absolutely no reason for Sabrina to go on Geraldo. It didn't help the children. It didn't help Misty. It just got you on TV. Well Sabrina, you've had your fifteen minutes of fame now. Let it be over and start thinking of Katherine, Seth, and Sydney. That's what Quinn would want you to do and that's exactly what he would have done if it had been your children left without a parent. God help the children.

Okay.... if Snapped does not allow the Witherspoon to manipulate what REALLY occured, and they are not allowed to have any input (Sabrina), then the children will have a true and accurate version of what happened that day when mommy killed daddy for her own selfish/greedy reasons.
I will wait and watch.
So did prosecutor Martin and any cops that where interviewed for "snapped" get paid??????????

It never falls to amaze me how ignorant some people can be. Of course Mr. Martin and the police officers didn't take money for the interviews. I'm not so sure you want to be slandering the police and a very competent attorney. But I guess you can hide behind your no name remarks. Everyone with the smallest of brains know that the family is the only one that will make money on this deal. Next we will be hearing that they have sold the movie rights to a production company for filming. Too bad the title Black Widow has been done. Or Small Sacrifices. That's what you're doing you know. sacrificing the children. I just don't know how you do it. They are the ones hurt in this. No amount of money is worth hurting Quinn's kids. Put them first now. It's too late to help Quinn and Misty doesn't deserve anyone's help. She deserves to be locked up just like the jury said and she deserves to stay there the rest of her life. You have to start thinking of the children. Don't let them be the ones hurt the most just for a few bucks. Children of a parent in prison already has things stacked against them. They rate highest in suicide, low grades, and leading a life of crime. Read the stats. I have. They need everyone's help. They don't need to have this whole ugly part of their life played back for them everyday. Put them first now. You are the only ones who can stop this distruction of these children.
As we have all witnessed, it is all about their greed and ego,and the children are the tool they use to achieve it. They haide behind them when people don't show sympathy or support their beliefs and say, "think of the children". Those children do not have a snowballs chance in heck to ever have a normal life as long as they are with the Witherspoon Family.
Those kids have one heck of a legacy to live with.

Letter: Wrong reward!
It is a disgrace an award was given to the two Mooresville investigators who were responsible in part for the conviction of Misty Witherspoon, an innocent young mother sentenced to life in prison without parole, whose children pray and cry for their mother every night. The children are forced to take a 21/2-hour ride every other Saturday to see their momma and don't understand why she can't come home.
Misty's not there because she's guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her husband, Quinn; she's there because of her statement change and the fact that Quinn was a police officer.
I can't believe the system would reward such a detrimental outcome. Is this an attempt by the system to convince themselves and others that justice was served?
My brother would be ashamed of the judicial system he loved so and choose to protect with his very life, and if you say he is at peace, then you didn't know Quinn at all! Quinn was a man of principles, even if it meant standing alone.
But Quinn doesn't have to stand alone. He is the driving force behind me. He wants justice, and we're here and fighting for him, the truth and Misty!

Saying that Sabrina is the one that needed to be killed is crazy. You are no better than Misty. Only God knows your heart but your outward walk and words sure say alot. May God soften your heart.
The person that said Sabrina should have been the one killed needs looking into by the cops. That sounds like a death threat. She is a person too. Maybe this needs to be sent to the authorities.
Quinn was a police officer, a son, a brother, a father, and a friend. Misty killed them all. So life in prison seems about right to me.
Sabrina go away and let those children live a some what normal life. It is going to be a sad day when they actually learns the facts and what their mother actually did when taking their fathers life so sefileshly.
